We offer picnic hamper style dinners at La Grande Noe rather than formal dining. The hampers consist of excellent, fresh local produce.
For tree-houses guests dinner is delivered to your tree and attached to a pulley allowing you the pleasure of pulling it up to your terrace and eating on your terrace or i your treehouse! Chateau guests may have their dinner in the grounds (perhaps in one of our orchards, in the garden or the Orangerie) or if they prefer in the dining room.
The meat and terrines are best quality and local and are prepared by a local award-winning delicatessen butcher in Longny-au-Perche. The meat is served warm whenever possible.
The Camembert or Pont L’Évêque cheeses we offer are hand-made, unpasteurised and the best in France. We offer two brands, Reo and Gillot. Reo was founded by Agnes uncle and is still family-owned while Gillot was part of the family until sold a few years ago.
The goats cheese is local, organic and also hand-made and unpasteurised. For children we offer pasteurised cheeses too.
The goats cheese comes from a local farm "La Hutte". It is 5 km away and you may visit the owners and their 50 goats. It is ideal for children as they can feed and milk the goats.
Our desserts are either homemade or made by our patisserie, "L'Aurore du Pain" in Longny-au-Perche. Our patissier produces fantastic award-winning desserts that you will adore.
We have a good selection of drinks to accompany your meal. A lot of research has gone into finding these.
For champagne, try our family favourite, Potel Prieux. A small manufacturer of fine champagne and very reasonably priced.
For red wine we offer a Chinon. This is a lovely wine that goes well with all parts of the meal, but particularly (as you might expect in France) with the cheese course.
The Sauvignon blanc is a proper, delicate French white - it is delicious.
Our cider is made from the apples of the orchards of Mr Thierry Charron in Belleme. A finer cider you will struggle hard to find. Mr Charron is a small producer who knows his apples!
Our own apple juice is equally as good and of course organic.
