Things to do, places to see...

On site:

There are walks on site in our park and the farm that surround the chateau and you are very welcome to explore these. These are relatively short.

Inside for your use is the grand piano in the sitting room and table tennis in the orangerie. There are always cards, chess, board games etc.

Outside you may use our bicycles or play croquet, boules, football. There is also a sandpit and swings for children to use.

For those with horse-riding in mind there are paddocks with shelter for your horses (free of charge as well).

One of our neigbours offers tours of the locale by horse and cart which are well worthwhile.

The Perche is a place for exploring and enjoying the outdoors. The area is stunning and locally there are a number of beautiful walks and bike rides that take in forests, small lakes, local places of interest etc. (we have maps for your use).

The Perche is famous for its horses and there are plenty of opportunties for riding be it for adults and kids. The local pony centres cater for all ages and abilities.

Fishing is also popular and there is both fly and course fishing available in the area.

Golf is a short car ride away. The course at Belleme is very pretty and caters for all. For the more adventurous there are the fying clubs of Mortagne-au-Perche (22km) and l'Aigle (25km).

There are swimming pools and tennis courts locally too.

The Perche is a protected park  of local and national importance. It is a region of hills and forests, old villages and manors, mills and abbeys.

It is a favourite retreat for Parisians. While for visitors wishing to sample a spot of the capital then Paris is just 1.5 hours away. Along with Paris, Monet's Gardens, Versailles, Chartres, le Mans and the Normandy beaches are popular day trips visits for guests.

It is equally celebrated for its food and excellent restaurants and for its music and art festivals.

Below are very useful "downloadable pdf guides" for those wishing to know more about the area.

They are written in French but offer an idea of what is going on and what is to do here. We find the map particularly useful.
